Call Center Career without any CallsDo you want to work on a call center without having to answer any calls at all? Yes it’s possible. In fact you can even do it for 62 years, that is, if you still want to work at that age.

First what you have to do is get some education, some college degree and a good English oral communication skill. That’s basically what call center companies want from their employees these days.

So how to do it? Simple, you apply to a Call Center Company, get trained by the company on English Accent Training for two weeks and two weeks for Product Training (Some companies even longer). That’s a month of free training with pay, and the pay for a Call Center Trainee ranges from P12,000 pesos to P20,000 or more. But since the idea is to work without having to answer any call, or what others way work on the “floor”. You flunk your Product training and you are forced to resign, not fired. This means, you are not bound to pay the bond because you are asked to resign and you left the company in good terms. And then, you apply to another company again. This is what we call “Call Center Hopping.” There is even a love story that revolves around call center hopping.

According to Call Center Directory there are 752 Call Center Companies in the Philippines. That means if you work on a company for a month only, you have 751 companies left to apply and work, that also means 752 companies divided by 12months, is 62 years and a half of work guaranteed!

My mistake, many companies only hire people up to 40 years old, so okay, fine, you only have 20 years or 240 companies to apply and then you keep the last job. By then you are forced to answer customer calls, hehehehe.:D

Yeah yeah, there are some disadvantages to this idea like there is no professional growth and you might be banned by the companies finding out you are hopping around Call Center Companies. But hey, there are 752 companies to choose, who would even know you were Call Center Hopping if you did not place all the companies in your resume? Just tell the recruiter anything you can think of to convince them you are still qualified for the job, even if you are already 40 years old with zero experience. All you need is to impress them with your perfect accent after years of 1-month trainings.

hey, how did you found out our site? Anyways thanks for linking :) Yes, we had our share of “call center hopping” we transferred from one company to another not because we want to be paid for training only, we were actually excelling and were top players but there were things that dont turned out the way we want it to be so we moved. Now we can say we aint hoppers anymore, we found our place, still excelling and continuously growing/promoted…

Hey Palconit, I enjoyed your article immensely. And there are truths to what you say. Be that as it may, wouldn’t it be proper to ask people first why they jump from one call center to another. My bad, because I said we we’re call center hopping before. That’s not the point I guess.

Look at where we are now… We have found our niche. I’m one of the middle management of a big call center and my soon to be wife was promoted not more that 6 months ago. We are working in different sites and in different departments.

We couldn’t be more happier where we are now.

Call center hopping is a phase we all go through because we want to find a place where we will truly belong. Unlike regular day jobs where your education dictates your career, in this industry, you really have to find your place, sometimes rather violently.

Thanks for advertising our site. =)
