Most of us use Search Engines to find something on the web. After we visited popular sites like WikiPedia, Ebay or Amazon, we then use Search Engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN to find other sites that have the information we need.
If you want people looking for the items you are selling to find you, you need to get your site visible on the first few pages of a Search Engine result. You can either optimize your site by making it Search Engine friendly and getting good links (Organic SEO) or you can pay Search Engines to display your site on their Sponsored Results (Pay Per Click Advertising). Either way works as long as you know your target market and you know the keywords mostly used by your potential customers when searching online.
Here on my Search Engine Marketing Blog, I will post several tips on Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click. With so many sites on SEO and PPC out there, I will only be focusing on topics that interests me and from your requests. I might expand this section of my site to include other lessons Internet Marketing like E-mail Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and Web Analytics, but for now lets focus on SEM.
Most of my content will be based on what I will learn from sites like:
