- The home page PR of article sites used for article submission link building should be no less than 4.
- The actual article page where the link to your site will be placed should be indexable by Google and Yahoo (e.g. no disallow rule in robots.txt of the article site and/or the page meta robots tag).
- The links to your sites should not have the nofollow attribute. The links should not be redirect links either. Just plain direct links suit your purpose.
- Ideally, the links should have a proper anchor text (preferred) but where it is not possible the links can be in the form of the site URL. Where anchor texts are allowed, the links to your sites should have a relevant, varied anchor text in full accordance to the Keywords file and be linking to varied pages (in accordance with the Keywords file).
- The links (both in-text and resource box/author bio) should be made in the format prescribed by each particular article site’s rules and be fully functional.
- Avoid using the same account on each given article site for submitting articles linking to your different sites. The rule is 1 site – 1 account (this also helps make the most of the author bio/resource box).
- Avoid submitting an article with links to the same site to the same article directory more than once, maximum twice within an extended period of time. Also check if there were any previous submissions to the article site in question for your site in question. The rule is 1 article site – 1 article submission for each your site.
- Avoid submitting the same article to multiple article sites without any changes to avoid duplicate content issues.
- Avoid using content taken off elsewhere – all articles should be original. The quality of writing should be high.
- For newly discovered article sites, avoid submitting articles for more than 2 of our sites into them until the results of such submissions are proven through the presence of these article sites in the backlinks.
- Avoid heavily spammed article sites (e.g. if you see a lot of links to pills, porn or casino sites stay away from such article sites).
- Preference should be given to sites accepting articles on individual basis, ideally covering niche topics related to our sites rather than traditional article directories. However, bear in mind that these sites: 1) should be contacted on an individual basis and do not have regular article submission forms; 2) want exclusive articles that will only be published on these sites.
