Get yourself stable first before marriage

My cousin is planning to get married next year. He has been working so hard all these years to prepare for this big event in his life. He said that he is certain that he found the right woman for him and he wants to spend all his life with her. The thing is, he has not proposed yet because he wants to be sure that he can really provide a good life for his future wife and kids. One of the things that he is looking into is buying a house and lot as a wedding gift to his future wife. He wants to show her that marrying him would really be a good decision because he can provide for the family.
I agreed to his plan in ensuring the future of his family. Having his own home would really be a good factor in establishing a happier and more stable life.
