Bariatric Surgery Diet
The process of losing weight is not as easy as how you gained those extra pounds. For some people who underwent diet and exercise programs but were still unsuccessful in obtaining significant weight loss, bariatric surgery can help them achieve a healthier body weight. Bariatric surgery is comprised of a variety of surgical procedures which aims to treat obesity by modifying the gastrointestinal tract for the purpose of reducing the intake or absorption of nutrients in the body. This medical procedure does not include abdominoplasty or liposuction.
For people who will undergo bariatric surgery, they need to follow a bariatric surgery diet. The pre bariatric surgery diets begin 2 to 3 months prior to the gastrointestinal surgery. After the surgery, one has to strictly follow particular bariatric eating guidelines to guarantee proper healing and nutrition.
