UPDATE: Just when I thought that there will no longer be a World Pyro Olympics 2008, now they decided to have it on a summer. What??? Ang pangit naman if you ask me. Many would like it if this is held every New Year but I don’t know why they failed to set a good schedule for this event.

UPDATE: For those searching for World Pyro Olympics 2006, the schedule will be on January 5, 6, 7 and 12, 13 next year 2007. It’s already quite late to hold this contest if you ask me. Here are the details:
From the 5th to the 7th and 12th to 13th of January 2007, the ten of the most prestigious pyrotechnic companies in the world will showcase the best of classical fireworks displays.
Nine (9) countries will be vying for the title of the Champion of the 2nd World Pyro Olympics. Two (2) countries will fire during each of the first four days while the ninth participant is set to fire on the final evening of the event.
As the host of the event, the Philippines shall perform a fireworks display on the last night to complete the 10-country performance and to close the competition. Awards, such as the People’s Choice are to be given out after the exhibition, with the crowning of the World Pyro Olympics Champion ending the event.
The schedule of the fireworks shows is as follows:

The World Pyro Olympics will be held at The Esplanade (formerly Promenade), which is located right in front the SM Mall of Asia, inside the Bay City Central Business Park, in the City of Pasay.
