Be the First Pinoy Idol?

If you were able to see GMA’s TV ad of their upcoming Pinoy Idol, you will hear this phrase:
“Be the First Pinoy Idol”
I remember ABC 5 once hosted the Philippine version of American Idol, called Philippine Idol. The reality show failed to reach the show’s expectations, because of low advertisement placements despite being a widely-followed show. [read here]. Reading the news, it looks GMA got the second franchise of the Idol Series [read here]. I think they made a good deal as this time, the Idol series will be getting a relatively wider audience and more potential sponsors.

Both Pinoy Idol and Philippine Idol belongs to the Idol series of FremantleMedia, a content and production division of RTL Group, Europe’s largest TV, radio, and production company, headquartered in London, England. The original name of the show is Pop Idol and was later franchised to over 30 countries (examples are USA’s American Idol, Germany’s Deutschland sucht den Superstar, and France’s Nouvelle Star)
Reading Wikipedia’s entry on Pinoy Idol, it says:
GMA promoted Pinoy Idol as “the first Idol competition in the Philippines” during its New Year’s Eve 2007 Presentation, therefore not recognizing Philippine Idol and its winner Mau Marcelo. [source]
What do you think would Maureen Marcelo (2006 Philippine Idol winner) react to this?

That would be unfair for Mau Marcelo. I think she deserves the credit for being the 1st Philippine Idol, thus should be recognized.
This is a form of greediness from GMA 7.

can you blame GMA, it’s ABC5′S fault why GMA will not recognize as the 1st winner, because abc5 won’t allow gma7 to use the title PHILIPPINE IDOL, because of that, they renamed it PINOY IDOL and not recognizing Mau Marcelo.
