Getting back to Google Earth Community
Posted on January 19th, 2008 | |
It has been months since I last made a contribution to Google Earth Community. I am thinking I should get back into it again and submit more placemarks of places I have been on. Right now I will focus more on completing the Makati Business District area. Good thing I have a very good source on what names to place on all the buildings in the Financial Center of the Philippines.
I love Google Earth. It is my 4th most used Google service (1st is Google Search, 2nd is Google Talk and 3rd is Google Adsense). I have been using Google Earth on some of my design projects, when a client wishes to add a Google Map of their accommodation / business location so people can see the actual satellite view of the area. Google Earth has also helped me a lot on finding good places to spend my weekend vacation. Some third-party sites also use Google Earth to show distances from 1 place to another, and others also provide services like creating your own Google Map with your own custom placemarks.
Now back to Google Earth Community. My first contribution was on May 2006, contributing placemarks of places in Cagayan de Oro. Since then, I have been making several posts on places I have visited, mostly on Cebu and Makati. I really had a good time sharing notable places of the Philippines to Google Earth Community members. Too bad I had to get back to work and eventually forgot to log in back to the forum.
Now I am back and ready to make more contributions. I hope there are still blank spots in the Makati Financial District for me to place my mark.
