Christmas Wish List: Laptop
Posted on December 2nd, 2007 | |
For a couple of weeks now I have been scouting everywhere for the best laptop money could buy. I’ve checked out second hand laptops, local computer stores for the best deals and looking up online. Basically my ideal notebook is something I can use for work, handle hours of computer processing and a stable hardware. Here is my ideal specs (my minimum requirements)
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz
- 1GB Memory
- 160 GB Storage Space
- 17″ Widescreen
- WiFi ready
- Bluetooth Capable
So here are my top 4 choices of dream notebooks I want for Christmas.
MacBook Pro 17 inch 2.4GHz. This is the most expensive laptop yet my most wanted laptop I want for Christmas. I don’t want to have a Mac just because its cool to have one, but because I need this for my work as a web designer. Many designers recommend buying a Mac over a PC and its a requirement for a designer to have experienced using a Mac. Price: USD2,799.00 or over PHP120,000.00
Dell Inspiron 1720. One of the most affordable 17″ Laptops out there. This is a good notebook for me since it has all the specifications I need for a work laptop. Its bundled with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, I wont have to worry about pirated Windows anymore. Price USD949.00 or PHP40,807.00. The BEST deal if you ask me! Too bad I haven’t seen this sold on local computer stores anywhere in Metro Manila. Should I order online instead?
Alienware Area-51® m9750. Alienware Notebooks are best known as the most recommended gaming notebook for all serious gamers. I don’t play computer games anymore, but having this Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 + 2GB DDR2 + 120GB Storage is more than enough for my needs. Price: USD1,699.00 or PHP73,057.00. Much more expensive than Dell, but hey, Alienwares are dream PCs any geek wants to have.
HP Pavilion dv9500t. Cheaper than Alienware, this is desktop-replacement-level entertainment powerhouse. It’s also packed with innovative optional features, including a fingerprint reader. Isn’t that cool? This also has a separate numeric keypad, which really helps users who are used to Desktop keyboards. It also has an optional integrated low-light VGA webcam and two omni-directional microphones, which also support VOIP applications. Price: USD999.99 or PHP42999.57
How I wish I have extra cash to buy myself a laptop. All my savings are for long term plans I can’t afford to buy these yet.
