Bayanihan SEO Contest Postponed
Posted on October 15th, 2007 | |
Yes, I have decided not to compete on the first checkpoint of the Bayanihan SEO Contest scheduled this November 30th. I will focus my time more on learning PHP/MySQL and will try to get a SEO Certification from Expert Rating after I will finish my SEO review and training.
This Bayanihan SEO Contest has been long delayed (supposed to start last July but moved to October) and with this I have decided not to join this contest for now since the final checkpoint wont be until May next year. A looong time for an SEO Contest if you ask me.
Right now, many contest entries are still doing the spamming and jamming techniques just like the previous SEO Contests, and I try to avoid these techniques. You can’t afford to use blackhat on real world clients.
I also noticed that most if not all website entries are blog sites and this shouldn’t be the case on a real world SEO. I believe that any website, blog or not, can be SEOed and have a chance in getting good rankings on any target keyword. It so happens that blog sites are easy to install and Search Engines naturally loves blogs.
If ever I will decide to rejoin the next checkpoint or the last checkpoint, I will not use a blog software on my site, but use a regular website as my entry. We’ll just wait and see very soon.
Good luck to those who are competing for the November 30th checkpoint.
