Are You Coming Home for Christmas? My Uncle and his family who live in Australia are planning to travel abroad this year. They think it would be great to spend Christmas on another country. It was only timely because his brother-in-law who lives in the Philippines invited them over to join them in celebrating the Yuletide season and to celebrate with them the Christening of their newly-born daughter. The family was really thrilled and excited to visit their relatives in the Philippines. They haven’t seen each other for three years. My Uncle’s wife is really looking forward to the trip because she misses her older brother so much. Her brother had helped her in her studies since high school and she thinks that she is indebted to her brother all her life because according to her, she will not be a successful lawyer today if not for the hardwork and support of her older brother.

My Uncle said that it was great to receive the invitation a few months earlier for them to book on Continue reading »

Capturing Halloween MomentsWe’re already in the middle of October. That only implies that Halloween is fast approaching. We are planning to have a Halloween Party at one of our friend’s house. Her house is huge enough to accommodate a lot of people. We already asked permission from her parents and they agreed to our plan. We were very glad about it. We were lucky that our friend’s parents are really supportive and understanding. They even helped us conceptualize the theme of this event. Instead of the usual scary costumes and themes during Halloween, we want it to be different. We came up with the “Hot, Sexy and Colorful” theme. We thought it was a good theme but we realized it was really great because when we gave out the invitations, people liked the theme. They thought that it would be another scary night for everyone with all the horrifying outfits of guests but they were sure glad to know that it’s one hot, sexy and colorful night for everyone.

To make the Halloween celebration more memorable and enjoyable, my friends and I will see to it that every moment of it will be captured. It’s great that we have our Continue reading »

Elegant and Durable Ceiling Fans

I have just transferred to a new one-bedroom condominium unit last Sunday and it was so tiresome to sort out things. The whole room was in a total mess. There were big boxes all over the place. I didn’t know which one to arrange first but I know that for the room to be in order, I needed to start somewhere. I decided to start with arranging the furniture. It took me several hours because I didn’t seem to get the look that I wanted for my living room. I went on to arranging the kitchenware then I concentrated on the bedroom. It took me a couple of hours to finish up the last two tasks.

I thought I already finished everything when I noticed there are still some boxes in the living room. One of the things I still needed to sort out is the ceiling fan. I was putting it up when unfortunately, the chair which I was standing on, gave up and I accidentally dropped the ceiling fan on the floor. As expected, the light kit broke into several pieces and the blades got crooked.

I went to the mall yesterday and went to find a new ceiling fan. I needed it badly because it is my alternative when not using the A/C to save electricity. There were a lot of beautiful Continue reading »

White Elephants of the Philippines

The term ‘White Elephant‘ is derived from Thailand, where an Albino (white) elephant was given to unfavored people by the ruler. Because these elephants were sacred and not permitted to work, it was a burden to the owner as it would eat up all the owner’s money until he/she became destitute. (source Investopedia)

White Elephant of the Philippines

Watching this weeks topic “Mahal Ka, Pero Walang Kwenta” on ABS-CBN’s The Correspondents (and partly by GMA’s Reporter’s Notebook), it talks about the White Elephants of the Philippines, it shows the very expensive but completely worthless projects done by our Government since the Marcos regime Continue reading »

A Fabulous European Vacation

The Philippines had been colonized by the Spaniards for more than three hundred years. This is why we have acquired a lot of their culture and traditions and many Filipinos have learned to speak their beautiful language. I have several friends who studied Spanish and have become well-versed in the language. Their reason for studying, at first, was because it is part of their job. They provide customer support to Spanish clients, but in the long run, they gained the passion to learn on it more and have become good speakers of it. With this asset, they have also performed well in their responsibilities and were awarded as top agents. As a result, they were given the chance to  travel abroad. They are looking forward to visit Barcelona, go to Prague and Dublin.

A Fabulous European Vacation

Barcelona is considered as the second largest city in Spain. It enjoys a mediterranean climate. It boasts of the best beaches such as the Nova Icaria, Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Mar Bella, Llevant, Sant Sebastia and Barceloneta wherein the last two are considered the oldest, largest and most visited beaches in the area. Some of the tourist attractions are The Sagrada Familia Church, The Camp Nou Stadium and Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art. Aside from the tourist attractions, there are also great Continue reading »

My girlfriend has a guy friend since college named Zigrid who really loves tennis. There were times before that he would really invite us to join him play it. We think that tennis is a great type of sport and we want to learn how to play it but I don’t know why we really haven’t even been able to play it at least once. Well, maybe because we just have other priorities. My girlfriend and her friends, including Zigrid, used to go out together before they went separate ways to work in other places. I used to hang out with the whole group due to my girlfriend. I could say that they are a bunch of happy and crazy individuals. They would talk about a lot of things. They can chat about simple to complicated stuff and the mood changes from calm to crazy and wild, meaning, from a silent to a noisy atmosphere because you could hear their loud voices and crazy laughter even meters away. I could remember that Zigrid would also bring up the topic about tennis and his big crush on Anna Kournikova.

We used to hang out at one of their friends house and every time we turn on the TV and browse over the channels, Zigrid would always want to check out the sports channel and if the game is Continue reading »
