Philippine Election Violations

Vote buying is very much alive on all places in the Philippines, whether its a form of money, promises, insurance and everything else of value. Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez may be invited for questioning for this announcement of giving away P10,000 to all the village chiefs ( about 180 barangay chairmen to be given incentive, P1.8 million total ) in his hometown in Iloilo City if they could consider a landslide victory for Team Unity.

Mayor Benjie Lim also accused Speaker Jose De Venecia of vote buying, for giving away 30,000 pesos each to village captains, 5,000 pesos each to village councilmen, P100,000 worth of insurance to village watchmen and health workers, and 1,000 pesos to all government employees in various towns, including teachers, who would be members of the board of election officers.

Even Manny Pacquiao is giving away insurance policies to his PCM (People’s Champ Movement) members. Comelec North District Election Officer of Cebu City Marchel Sarno says that Giving insurance cards is vote buying.

So as you can see, election violations are very rampant these days. But there are still so many election violations that the people never knew about. Using Smarty - Template Engine

Many of the new development projects I am working on now involves the use of smarty (with file extension *.tpl). Smarty is also used on modern cms applications such as Xcart, Serendipity, etc.

What is a Smarty?

Although Smarty is known as a “Template Engine”, it would be more accurately described as a “Template/Presentation Framework.” That is, it provides the programmer and template designer with a wealth of tools to automate tasks commonly dealt with at the presentation layer of an application.
